Did you ever try this? http://www.joint-genie.com/ It’s a prety simple tool, and it does a similar work compared with a biscuit joiner. It’s not the cheapest tool, but it worth the effort. I’m from Chile and I received it in 30 days. I’m following your blog because I’m building my own tinny house too.

That looks like a great too. Wish it werent so expensive. Im sure ill wind up picking up something like this along the way. Do you have a website for your house? I am always curious about other builds.
