Good news, everyone!

Gary Norton, owner of The Timber Shop, came by the site on Friday with a truck full of beautiful, locally sourced cypress siding. About 650 square feet of it!
It’s perfect. The lap-notches fit together so perfectly, it looks like one continuous piece. This textural uniformity, while potentially monotonous on a large house, lends a certain visual largeness to a tiny home. Not that there’s anything wrong with being tiny.
Cedric oils the boards with Australian Timber Oil, to make it weatherproof. That deep golden color is going to go well with the red windows and TARDIS-blue trim. Did we mention that? The trim is going to be Pantone 2955c, officially sanctioned by the BBC as “TARDIS-blue.” Oh dear.
Ahem.
Next weekend is going to be a monster (in the good way) – I’m taking the train down for Z’s birthday, and we’re going to have a siding installation party! Until then, Z is going to be treating the wood and installing trim and furring. Like so:
Beautiful! Just beautiful. Our sincere thanks to Gary at the Timber Shop for his fantastic donation!
